The Decolores en Cristo Secretariat Board is proposing a change to the Preamble in the ByLaws. The ByLaws state that any change to the ByLaws must be published to the DeColores en Cristo community for 2 months prior to the change being voted on. You can contact any board member or come to the next Secretariat Board meetings (October 2026) to ask any questions or express your concerns. The motion will be voted on at the November 16, 2026 DeColores en Cristo Secretariat Board meeting.
The current version is worded as follows:
DeColores En Cristo is an autonomous functional structure with the purpose of strengthening the desire for greater lay activity in Christion Churches. As an arm of the church, supported byChristians from local church communities, the movements two fold intent is to lay the essential foundation for a Christian life by calling persons to a renewed faith and to call persons to a conversion to Christ. It neither seeks church status, nor does it offer the Sacrament of Baptism.
Change "to call persons to a" to "a renewed conversation with"
At the bottom of the Preamble, the following statement would be added:
Note: A natural and beautiful byproduct of the love, communtiy and information shared in this movement has resulted in the conversion of individuals attending to Christanity but is not the identified purpose of the movement.
